Vacation - Days 3 and 4

Day 3 - Friday, July 4th
Carlee and Jared arrived in NC late Thursday night. So, Friday we headed to Black Mountain to eat and visit Montreat College (Carlee attended there for a semester). We had pizza at My Father's Pizza and then walked around on their Main Street and stopped for coffee. We headed up to see the campus - such a pretty campus!

We headed back to Hendersonville to meet Laurie and Emma downtown to paint pottery. Carlee, Jared, and Thomas went to Asheville to hang out for a while and Clay took Reese back up the mountain. We enjoyed painting pottery. I made a plate to hang in my kitchen - painted in the 'citrus' colors that my kitchen is themed around.

We thought we'd get a good fireworks show from Papa and Granny's house, but it was so foggy that we couldn't see too much. It was also close to Reese's bedtime, so we missed out on fireworks! Oh well..next year!

Day 4 - Saturday
Saturday morning we headed out early to drive up to Mt. Pisgah where we saw Looking Glass falls, Sliding Rock, and ate lunch at the Pisgah Inn.

Every year my Papa's famiy, the Chapmans, have a family reunion around July 4th weekend. This year it was at the river. We enjoying hotdogs and hamburgers with all the fixins, s'mores, and enjoyed time exploring the river. My pappy, who died 8 years ago, LOVED the river! So, a few years ago, we had a water fountain built in memory of my Pappy. It was nice to see that again.
