I hope this is not too boring...I'm so sorry if it is. There's just so many good pictures to post!! :)
Day 5 - Sunday
Papa and Granny are celebrating 50 years of marriage this October, so while we were all in NC, we celebrated their anniversary with her side, the Proctors, on Sunday. It was a nice gathering with good food and time with family. One of my cousins and his family are missionaries in the Philippines and it's been over 10 years since I've seen them and they were there!
Some of the family went on a hike at Carl Sandburg's place...not I - still not in shape from the birth of my sweet daughter :) We met them at the bottom.
After hiking, we went for ice cream (yes, again) and then bowling. Moma was kind enough to take Reese back up the mountain so Clay and I could enjoy bowling! We had a blast!!!
50th Anniversary Party...
The hikers..
Bowling...we had to dance if we got a strike - have pictures of the dancing..but didn't want to embarrass anyone. It was quite funny :) We had a good time!
Day 6 - Monday
We headed to my favorite place to eat breakfast - Joey's Pancake House in Maggie Valley. I ate 2 Reese's Peanut Butter pancakes and they were delicious!!!
We went to Main Street in Waynesville to walk around. It was sunny outside and to prevent Reese from getting a sunburn, we bought her the most adorable little bonnet. She didn't quite know what to think :)
Day 7 - Tuesday (last day!)
There are now 5 generations in our family. We got a picture in the hospital but I had just given birth the day before,...and boy, do I look like it. I requested a new picture :)
Nana (88), Papa (69), Moma (I won't disclose her age..but she looks good for a grandma, right?), Jobeth (23), and Reese (3 months)
We headed up the mountain for a picnic, which got rained out pretty soon after we ate. Then, to Outback for dinner that night - yummy!
Clay, Reese, and I left again at midnight, so we could drive through the night. Reese did great, again, and slept the whole way. We stopped a couple time to let her stretch and change her diaper...but she fell right back to sleep each time. We are SO glad to be home and can't wait to sleep in our own beds tonight!
I'll give you a couple days to recover from these posts before I post again! Sorry for the overload. But, it's nice to journal this out and relive the memories :) I'll post again in a few days!
*Yes, Reese is sleeping. I never thought I'd get this done in one sitting...now I'm ready for bed! My eyes are crossing!*
