Reese Taryn Vanzant

Here's a quick synopsis of what transpired during my labor:

Thursday, April 3rd

*Started pitocin 7:45 am
*Dr. broke my water 10:00 am
*Epidural (YAY!) 10:30 am
*Contractions got stronger and I could feel them on my left side - they gave me 'extra' twice and it finally went away.
*Labor, labor, labor - all afternoon
*Finally about 6:00 I started pushing because I was almost complete
*Pushed and pushed and pushed - head coming down but not far enough.
*Reese is 'sunny side up' and having a hard time getting under my pelvic bone
*At 9:00, Doctor said 45 minutes of pushing and then he'd try the vaccuum (c-section was next on the list)
*Dr. came in about 9:40 to check on everything, head was RIGHT there, he cut me (yuck!) and told me one last push and she'd be out.
*Used the vaccuum once, and there she was!

At 9:47 pm, Reese Taryn came into the world crying! She was 6 lbs and 10 oz, and 19 1/2 inches long. Absolutely perfect.

Motherhood is going great so far! She is our pride and joy and we are now a family of 3! :) I'm actually feeling really good - hopefully it will stay that way.

Total labor: 14 hours with almost 3 hours of pushing! whew!
