Staycation 2011

Because of way too many issues to go into and such, we decided that a “staycation” was best for us this year. Clay had been working WAY too many hours and was looking forward to a week of relaxation with us. I took off Monday, so we were able to spend 6 straight days together.

Day 1 – Saturday: sad, but I can’t even remember what we did. Oh yea, I left Clay at home for a little time to chill and Reese and I packed up and went to the beach with friends. We had such a good time!

Day 2 – Sunday: typical Sunday – Sunday School, church, family lunch and swimming at my cousins house and then a relaxing evening at home.

Day 3 – Monday: Mommy got a pedicure and Reese had her first “Build a Bear” experience.

Day 4 – Tuesday: worked at the church for a bit and then spent some time at home together. Doing various projects, cooking dinner and relaxing. Big check off the “to do list” was cleaning up the laundry room and reorganizing in there. Looks MUCH better! My sweet papa made me hooks to hang on the wall to put all my bags on – makes my counter filled with 6,709 bags look much better. Smile

Day 5 – Wednesday: I had lunch with a friend and then after a relaxing afternoon, we had church that night. We are in full swing decoration mode for VBS – we are swimming in BEACH themed stuff!

Day 6: Thursday: Pool Day! Thanks to our sweet friends Ken and Peggy, we were able to use their pool for a couple hours that day. Clay and I swam with Reese and Darci and I haven’t laughed that hard with my husband in a long time. We “re-learned” to dive and had jumping contests. Sweet quality time together!

Day 7 – Friday: Back to work for me, back to Nona’s for Reese and Clay worked at Callie Kay’s that day. We hung out til way too late at Ben and Kristin’s house.

Day 8 – Saturday: Work again for me and Reese and Clay worked at Callie Kay’s for a few hours. We all took a LONG nap that afternoon and then worked at the church on VBS for a few hours. Clay was sweet enough to keep Reese and Sara Gale so Kristin, Halee and I could work in peace. We then stayed WAY too long at Ben and Kristin’s again, but had a FUN FUN time.

Day 9 – Sunday: Sunday School and church and then Carlee and Jared arrived for the next 10 days! After welcoming them at the airport, we headed to the Sun’s game and fireworks with friends. After a 17 inning game, the fireworks were worth it.

Day 10 – Monday: we busted our rear ends to get the house and yard looking decent for our family cookout that night. We enjoyed burgers and hotdogs and all the fixings. Some JAMMIN’ ice cream sundae cake for dessert and sweet times with family.

4thofjuly

Tried to make her festive, since I failed at buying her a “4th of July” outfit Smile I think she looked mighty cute!

Tuesday: it was back to the grind for us all.
