From the mouth of…Reese!

Seriously, Reese keeps us laughing all.day.long. She is so witty, so literal in many of the things she says and half the time, she isn’t trying to be funny but we laugh at the things she says all the time!

I need to start writing this stuff down as soon as it happens cause this ole brain of mine has a hard time remembering most of the time.

----------------------------------------------------------

For as long as I can remember, Reese has always referred to any day other than today as “last week”, now it has become “last day”. This morning it was, “I wore that dress last day (meaning yesterday), didn’t I mommy?”

----------------------------------------------------------

A while back, when Reese would get dressed she would say she’s putting on “wake clothes”. Now, because her “L’s” sound like “W’s”, I assumed she was saying “lake clothes” and just went with it. One day clay quickly corrected me that she was really saying “wake clothes”….meaning anything that isn’t pajamas. Or “cajamas” as Reese says.

----------------------------------------------------------

Her mimi (Clay’s mom) kept her one Saturday while I worked a few weeks ago and that particular day was just a hard day for Reese. She wasn’t being very cooperative about anything, cried about everything and nothing made her happy. A few days after that, we went over to Mimi’s house and Reese looked at her and said as serious as can be, “I love you now”. I guess she remembered that Mimi got on to her a few times that one Saturday and she decided she loved her again SmileLove her honesty!

----------------------------------------------------------

Earlier this week, Reese was a smart mouth to me and I had to spank her for shouting “NO” in my face and she looked at me and said in the sassiest voice, “that didn’t hurt, hahahaha”. Oh really?! Took everything in me not to laugh – where does she learn these things?!

----------------------------------------------------------

Reese’s latest obsession is our neighbor and friend Jackson. She says, “I marrying Jackson in the fall and then we’re going to have a baby!” At least she has the order right!

----------------------------------------------------------

I went through a couple weeks of teaching Manners in our Wednesday night class and now everytime Reese uses her manners by saying “please” or “thank you” or “yes maam”, etc. She’ll follow it by saying, “I’m using my manners, aren’t I mom?”

----------------------------------------------------------

The other day it was raining outside and I was looking for my umbrella. When I couldn’t find it, Reese looked at me so serious and said, “You can use my umbrella, mom, I don’t mind.”

----------------------------------------------------------

Reese uses my old iPhone for games and music and pretends to call and/or text people. We hear this phrase a lot, “Hold on, I’m textin somebody”.

----------------------------------------------------------

I’ve been churning this blogpost in my head for a while, obviously, cause I had a lot to share. That doesn’t even put a dent in the things she says that keeps us laughing but it’s a few Smile A peak inside our life with a smarter-than-average-three-year-old (who is also sometimes smarter than her parents)!! I wouldn’t trade her for anything in this world. I’m crazy about her!
