Operation: Sleep Through the Night

Well, last night was the first night we've tried the 'no feeding and cry it out' methods with Reese. I do have to say it was somewhat successful.

She slept from 8:30 to 3:25. When she woke up at 3:25, I let her cry for 5 minutes and then went to her room to try and lay her back down (without picking her up out of her crib) and pat her back. That wasn't happening. She was just grabbing at my arms to be picked up. So, I picked her up and we rocked, and rocked, and rocked. I didn't feed her though! She finally went back to sleep and I put her down. YAY! Praise the Lord - success in not feeding her a bottle to go back to sleep.

She then slept from 4:00 to 5:15 and this time she did get fed. Dr. Kim said she should be able to make it to between 5 and 6 AM without a bottle so I felt the need to feed her this go 'round. She ate like a champ and fell right back to sleep until around 6:30 when Clay went in there rocked her back to sleep and she slept until 7:30AM.

I can't tell you the last time I slept in MY OWN BED past 5AM. It was SO SO nice! Usually we're in the recliner after about 5AM until whenever she is up for the day.

So, all in all...I believe it was a success. We'll try it again tonight and see how it works. Say a prayer for us...

YIPEE!! If it makes you feel any better we're in the same boat. We've been doing the same thing and our Dr says the same thing. The crying it out is SOOO hard but I know it will work. She'll finally figure it out. Olivia is sleeping better too:)
