Happy Birthday, Emma!

Emma's birthday was last week, the 23rd, but we celebrated as a family tonight at Papa and Granny's. She had a "Star Wars" (her latest thing) party last weekend with her friends and said she had a blast!

I remember the day Emma was born - 10 years ago - at a tiny 2 lbs, 2 oz - she certainly is a miracle. I remember going to the hospital about a week after she was born and they somehow thought I was the sister and let me back in the NICU (only immediate family was allowed...but I didn't argue) and I remember seeing her for the first time! That image will forever be in my mind - such a precious tiny miracle. I went with Laurie and Jonathan to the hospital during her day visits to see her MANY times over the 3 months she was in the NICU. That will always be a special time and I will never forget it. She's growing up to be such a 'cool girl'. I hope that we can always have a special relationship as she gets older. I love you, Emma Marie :) I can't believe your 10 years old - gosh, I must be getting old!

As always, we had a great time this evening with the fam. Reese was not in a great mood, but still was loved on by all.
