November is GONE and December is CA-RAZY!

Welp, it's already the crazy, busy month of December and I haven't even done my Thanksgiving post. I did take a few pictures of Reese in her absolutely adorable Turkey shirt and pink tutu BUT they're still on my camera so they'll have to be uploaded another time. Maybe for a Wordless Wednesday post since I'll be very "wordy" here about our happenings...

I'll back up a few weeks and share an adorable picture of my sweet girl in pigtails (of course, I had a hair appointment schedule for her the very next week...so we are currently waiting on it to grow back so we can do pigtails again).
Is it me or does she look completely GROWN up here?

We completely "re-did" our master bedroom last month and I am completely in LOVE with the way that it turned out! I was so glad to get rid of that DARK red and love how the turquiose brightened up the whole room. The bathroom is still a work in progress so I'll post pictures of that as soon as it's done. I'm in a complete "let's update some things around the house" mode and I've got a list I'm checking off!

In our Wednesday night class at church, we did a couple Thanksgiving crafts and I was so pleased how they turned out! Reese was so proud of hers, she didn't let me put them away when we decorated for Christmas.

Side note: When we were coloring the leaves with watercolor paint, I was watching Reese and she was so particular and careful not to mix the colors. When cleaning up, her set of paints were the cleanest! She's a little OCD like her daddy! Notice her colors don't mix on the leaf either!

The weekend before Thanksgiving, we stayed home sick from church so we took that opportunity to decorate for Christmas. A little early, yes, but looking at the calendar I had no other free day to get it all done with help from Clay :) I scaled back a bit this year from all the little "knick-knacks" and kept it simple. We didn't even do lights outside.

That very same weekend we went to the lighting of the Christmas tree at St. John's Town Center. We had dinner and then met my sister, Lindsey and her boyfriend, Tyler to watch the fireworks and hang out for a while. Reese had a good time and loved seeing everything decorated for Christmas.

And then there was Thanksgiving...a busy busy day. The day started out a FLOP when THREE different desserts ended up in the trashcan. We won't even go there. So, already, my attitude was shot and I had to do a real attitude adjustment to enjoy the rest of the day. I gathered my green beans that were cooking the crockpot and we headed out for the day. First stop, to my Aunt Bobbies with Poppy and Gamee. We had fun, ate good food, played shuffleboard and hula-hooped :) We left there and went to Papa and Granny's for some more good food and relaxing with everyone. Then, we got our game-plan for Black Friday.

A tradition going for over 19 years is still going strong and we look forward to this day ALL year long. I've said this before, but my granny, aunt Laurie and my mom are serious...I couldn't even go til I got married...imagine that. I must've reached the "maturity level" they require. Belk is ALWAYS the first stop and then we cruise the mall, have lunch a Ruby Tuesday and then head out over the rest of Jacksonville. Now that Reese is in the family, Toys R Us is back on the agenda. We left Callahan at 3AM on Friday morning and I arrived back home...completely exhausted and almost done Christmas shopping at 945PM. Long day but we always make such good memories! Already looking forward to NEXT Black Friday.

Last night, Clay and I attended our first of MANY Christmas parties this year...his work party. It was "cocktail attire" and hearing that I knew I had to go shopping for a dress. Clay said he just knew I would come home with a "BLACK cotton dress from Target". HA! Moma said to just chose a dress from my closet that I wear to church. Yeah, those usually consist of cotton dresses paired with my denim jacket. Not particularly "cocktail attire". Clay on the other hand has a suit and tie so he was ready to go. Found a dress, borrowed some shoes and we had a good time at the party. Wachovia really did it up nice - a DJ, dance floor and a variety of food. It was nice meeting people who Clay works with.

Now, we have two more parties today...get ready for pictures! and then Nona, Reese and I are off to Disney tomorrow! I'll be back with several updates. Muah! Happy BUSY December! :)
