December started off with a bang as we went on our DISNEY trip and then the next weekend started the craziness of all the parties/funtions/family get-togethers, etc. Pretty sure the best way to do this is in bullet format....
*Conner Family Christmas - good food and good family :) As a side note, the menu for the day was soups and sides...my FAVE. Clay calls that type of food "Shower food" and I'm pretty sure I'd die a happy lady if a meal that consisted of finger foods was my last meal. Sure is hard sticking to weight watchers with that kind of food around. Yummy!
*Nursery/Preschool PJ Party. We had pizza for dinner, crafts GALORE, the story of Jesus' birth, birthday cake for Jesus and plenty of treats to carry home. The kids had a blast and my wheels are already churnin' with ideas for next years party :)
*Gingerbread House at Nona's. This WILL be a tradition - we had so much fun!
*This is the second year the Taylor's have hosted a cookie decorating party for the little ones....and it is so much fun. This year we saved those cookies for Santa and Reese just thought that was so special because SHE decorated them :)
*Christmas at Grandaddy and Mimi's - certainly exiciting. We came home with a new car...for Reese. She's sporting a Barbie VW bug. And she loves it. Now, if she'll only get the steering down pat, she'll be a good driver. Practice, practice, practice!
*Christmas with Boppie and family :) - my dressup princess got the best gift: a whole trunk full of shoes, jewelry, dress-up clothes, hair accessories! She was in heaven and had to try it all on right then and there :)
(and please don't worry...I do NOT wear festive broaches on my jacket. We played a white elephant gift exchange and that was my pick :))
*Christmas with Poppy, Gamee, Lindsey (and Tyler) and Wesley. They all made the trek out to Hilliard and I served dinner (requested was King Ranch Chicken -- my first time making it but it was GOOD!) and had such a nice time together eating, opening gifts and playing the wii.
*Christmas Eve: made our birthday cake for Jesus and then headed to my Mema's for a low country boil....some GOOD GOOD eatin' went on that night!
*Christmas Morning: cookies were eaten and presents were left by Santa. Reese came out of her room smiling and loved every single minute of opening presents.
We opened presents and then loaded the car for a full day. First stop: breakfast and cake for Jesus at Pappaw and Nona's, next up was lunch with my mom's family at my Aunt Anne's and last but certainly not least, Christmas dinner and presents with Papa and Granny. Papa read the Christmas story as he does every year and Reese listened intently. Then, we passed out the gifts.
We are so thankful that Jared and Carlee were able to spend the week with us. We had a fun time -- and Reese absolutely loved having them around. We were sad to see them head back to CO today.
We are so blessed and are so thankful for each one of our familys -- what a special time of year to be able to spend so much time with them. We will cherish the memories made this Christmas.
