Christmas with Mickey

After going on December 20th last year (just one day LATE for the "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party"), we decided we weren't going to miss it this year. Last Sunday, after church, Nona, Reese and I loaded up and headed to Orlando. The Party started at 4pm and lasted until midnight. We prayed hard that Reese would nap on the way there or we knew we would be in trouble. Thank goodness she FINALLY fell asleep and took about an hour nap - just enough to energize her and get her ready for the Magic Kingdom.

I ordered her a special "Minnie Mouse" dress and bow just for that day and she looked SO precious in it. Funny story,...moma and I showed up in the same shirt to wear..not planned but we made a memory :)

If you ask her who her favorite character from her visit was, she answers PLUTO! and her favorite ride was Dumbo and the Carousel.

Last March when we visited Disney, Reese wasn't too sure about the life-size characters, this time wasn't too much of a difference. She wasn't scared, just didn't want me to leave her side with any of them. So, mommy ended up in all the pictures :)

I did not take many pictures...in fact, having my big camera was kind of annoying to take on every ride cause goodness knows I was not leaving it in the stroller to be taken by a passer-by. Next time, note to self, pictures with my phone will be satisfactory and will make for a more enjoyable trek across the Magic Kingdom.

Although, I don't have many pictures to document our trip, the memories in my head and my heart mean much more. Reese had an absolutely phenomenal time. She was SO well-behaved and took in every sight and sound like such a big girl. She was very patient in the lines (let me just say, there were hardly ANY lines...the longest we had to wait was to see Mickey/Minnie and that was around 30 minutes. Still tolerable!) and stayed awake until the very end to see the magical parade. I took pictures of all the floats and characters in the parade and plan on making her a photo album. I think she'll enjoy looking at them :)

It has been DUALLY-NOTED that we will visit Magic Kingdom for "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party" again and are even going to try and go to the "Not-so-scary Halloween Party" too. That's the way to go: less crowds, cheaper tickets and beautiful decorations!
