Mountain Memories ::Part TWO::

Let's continue on about our mountain vacay :)

After we visited the Cabbage Patch Hospital, we took the scenic route home, through some mountains, visited a waterfall and then headed back to the house.

That night, the little town just down from the mountain house was holding a street dance and fesival that weekend (picture Shrimp Boat Festival scaled down ALOT - but the same concept,..booths, food and music.)

Yes, she stopped in the middle of the street and answered her phone...what a hoot!

The next morning, Nona and Papa got up and headed out to hike for a few hours - part of the Appalachian Trail. Granny, Reese and I headed to the street festival again. I didn't take my camera but it was nothing really to write home about. It was hot, crowded and we weren't spending any money on nonsense. We did stop at a bookstore that had a tea room where we had drinks and dessert. Not to mention, it was in the A/C which was VERY welcomed. This girl right here hiked up on hormones does not do well in the heat.

That evening, we visited the Chatuge Dam before going to the lake/playground. It was neat to read the story of the Dam and to walk and see the views. Beautiful.

We headed straight to the lake to enjoy the last of daylight. This time, we made sure and packed her swimmies in the bag. She turned into part FISH that night and LOVED the water :) She kept wanting to go deeper and jump into the water, making it splash in her face!

My Nana, my great grandmother, lives about 2 1/2 hours from where the mountain house was so we packed up for the day and headed her way on Sunday. It was a long time in the car, but at 90 years old, we need to take every chance we can to see her. If you'll remember, she and Reese share a birthday. Reese made 5 generations so we always make sure and get a generation picture when we're together.

We took Nana out to dinner and Reese was SO good. Reese has been learning to pray and she is so serious when she does it. Her version, "God is great, let us thank Him for our food. Amen." It is THE sweetest thing to watch your child pray.

After we finished eating, she sure did put on a show for us....take a look for yourself :)

The weather forecast for the next two days that we were supposed to be there predicted RAIN and the activities we planned to do were all outside. So, we thought about just heading home. My reasoning wasn't so much the rain but Reese had been SOOOO good the whole time...in the car, sleeping, in the house, etc. that I just knew if I pushed my luck too much, we would have a miserable ride home. So, two days early, we packed the car and headed home. It was SO good to be home. In my own bed, with my husband. We enjoyed our time away so so much and are so thankful Papa and Granny let us crash their vacation for a few days :)

And I can't end this post without bragging on my husband. Since he was home all day everyday, he took it upon himself to CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. And when I say clean, I mean he took one room every day and organized the drawers, closet, cabinets etc, threw away ALOT and vaccuumed, dusted, the whole nine yards. I was so thankful for what he did. Why is it that my house already needs it AGAIN?! Oh yea, I have a 2 year old :)
