Nona, Reese and I packed the car and headed north with a destination of Hiawassee, GA/Hayesville, NC area. My grandparents have rented a BEAUTIFUL house tucked away in the mountains for 2 months and of course, because we can't go that long without seeing them, we headed their way to stay a few days.
The 7 hour trip went VERY well except for the fact that Reese only slept ONE hour the whole time. The rest of the time I was in full-force entertainment mode to keep her happy in the car. Entertainment that included: coloring, play-do, flash cards, DVDs, books, stickers...you name it, we did it. I was so happy when we finally pulled up to the house...the backseat was starting to close in on me :)

We made it in perfect time for dinner and then Granny took us to a city lakefront park with a playground and a beachfront lake area. The weather was perfect and Reese LOVED it.
Playground:
Waterfront: (this particular night, we didn't bring her swimmies so she was limited on how deep she could go, but she had just as much fun hanging on the shore!)
That night, Reese was worn slap out and it didn't take long for Reese to settle in and go to sleep. She was serenaded each night with one of us singing "Amazing Grace", per her request, to put her to sleep.
The next day, we packed in the car and all headed to the Cabbage Patch Hospital about 30 minutes away. On the way there, Reese kept talking about picking about a baby "like Baby Hamp" (our friend's new baby boy) so I think she really thought we were going to pick out a REAL baby. Big surprise when we got there, huh? Reese, I only WISH it was that easy to bring a new baby home.
The Cabbage Patch Hosptial was completely overwhelming to her, I think. The "hand-stitched dolls" were WAY out of our price-range. Some even hit the $300's...we went straight to the gift shop to pick out our "boxed doll" priced around $30! Reese didn't know the difference, and had just as fun only looking at the "hand-stitched ones".
Baby Audrey :) and all her accessories!
Stay tuned for another post to finsh off our trip.... :)
