Tyler and Lindsey’s Day ~ 08.06

My sister, Lindsey, married her perfect match on Saturday at the World Golf Village. Everything about the whole entire weekend was perfect. Absolutely perfect. I didn’t take too many pictures with my camera, a few…and a few with my cell phone….but I’ll be sure to share the professional pictures when we get the link. I just KNOW they’ll be perfect too.

Thursday, Reese and I packed up and headed to Daddy and Mom’s house. Clay met us there after he got off work. There was too much going on all weekend for us to stay all the way in Hilliard so we had a huge sleepover for two nights.

Friday morning started with pedicures and lunch with the girls. Two of the bridesmaids couldn’t meet us but we had a good time anyway.

Reese had it in her mind that she was NOT going to let someone else paint her toenails. Clay was sweet enough to take her while we enjoyed lunch and spent some time with her – he let her play at Chic-fil-a and then went to Target to let her pick out her own fingernail polish for mommy to paint later.

Friday night was the Rehearsal and Dinner. We loaded up and headed to the World Golf Village in the HEAT. It was so so hot. We were just praying for cooler weather Saturday night for the wedding – at least a breeze or something! Rehearsal went smooth and the dinner was fabulous. It was great meeting all of Tyler’s family and friends that were apart of the big day.

Saturday morning started with a huge breakfast spread….made-to-order omlets, sausage gravy and biscuits and cinnimon rolls. It was hard to choose…believe me, I wanted all three. But, I knew I had a dress to fit into so I chose the omlet.

Lindsey was seriously the most calm bride I’ve ever seen. She took in the day for all it was worth and enjoyed every second. We showered and packed all of our stuff for the day and I headed with Lindsey to get her hair done. Which turned out beautiful and perfect with the birdcage veil.

After the hair appointment started the whirlwind of events and emotions for the day. Lindsey and I headed (in the rain, might I add. But, it cooled off the hot sun!) to the WGV to get ready for pictures and the ceremony. After a brief stressful moment about the bouquets, the problem was quickly solved and they turned out beautiful. Pictures went smooth and we were anxiously awaiting 6:30 to walk down the aisle.

6:30 finally rolled around and the Lord did something so neat – He rolled the clouds in front of the hot sun and brought a cool breeze in. Y’all, I’m not kidding, it was totally the Lord. It was amazing to see at literally 6:25, the sun was out and shining and HOT, 5 minutes later, it was bearable.

Reese did amazing! She made her own “aisle” and cut down the side straight to the front, but it was too cute! She stood up at the front with me the whole time and was the perfect flower girl.

I watched Tyler as he watched his sweet bride come down the aisle….I cannot explain the emotion I saw him feeling. I wish I could have made time stand still just to watch how in love he is with my sister. They really are the perfect match.

The ceremony was perfect – they wrote and read their own vows which made it so genuine. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the crowd after seeing Tyler cry when he saw Lindsey for the first time and listening to their heart. They looked at each other like there was no one else watching them.

*I was so honored to be the Matron of honor for my sister. I could not have been more proud standing there that day.*

The reception was a HIT and everyone had a good time. Tyler and Lindsey walked straight into their first dance and then Tyler had a surprise up his sleeve. He had secretively planned to sing to Lindsey. His voice is amazing and watching him sing to her was so perfect.

Here’s the  video of Tyler singing to Lindsey…sorry the video was shaking…I was crying Smile

The night went on with good food and lots of fun dancing! My daddy started the “speeches” off GREAT and myself and the best man finished it off.

There were several people who had hotel rooms at the WGV for Saturday night, Clay and I were one of them. It was nice not to have to drive home after such a fun, but exhausting day. Tyler’s mom hosted a brunch Sunday morning that was absolutely delicious. Tyler and Lindsey joined us and we were able to give lots of love, hugs and kisses before they headed off to Key West for the week.

I’ll share the link to the professional pictures when I get it. I cannot wait to see how they turned out!
