Our Halloween festivites started in full force last Wednesday and continued on until Sunday night. To say that I was exhausted on Sunday was an understatement. I was so tired! Reese was THE cutest Minnie Mouse and we sure got wear out of that costume!
Let's see,..I guess I'll start with our Preschool Costume Party that was Wednesday night. Being the Wednesday Night Coordinator at our church, I, along with Kristin, "put together" the party. I had planned for the kids to decorate sugar cookies, make a scarecrow paperbag, and a handprint apple tree. Kristin and I stayed late at the church the Monday before to cut out all the little pieces and decorate the rooms.
I think the kids had fun...and they all came dressed up. They left with 2 crafts, a belly full of sugar cookies, and a goody bag full of candy!
Friday, while I was working, Nona took Reese to the Homecoming Parade for West Nassau. Reese came away with a bag full of candy that Nona ran into the street for :) She sported her Halloween shirt and looked mighty adorable!
(Thanks to Aunt Laurie for the sweet picture of my Reese!)
Saturday was the big day around here. Hilliard decided to trick or treat on Saturday night so we continued our tradition of going to the Buchanans for a hotdog roast and hayride around to get candy. Reese was an adorable Minnie Mouse again and we had so much fun with our sweet friends. Again, she came home with a bucket (actually TWO) full of candy and was exhausted by the end of the night!
Yep, ladies and gentleman, Adam and Eve joined the party, too :)
Onto the LAST day of our festivities: Sunday. Our church held a Reformation Party and the games were geared toward the older school children so I put together some fun and games for the little ones to enjoy outside. We had Pumpkin Decorating (with stickers and markers), color pages, bean bag toss, golf game, Lucky Duck game and little prizes hidden in corn they had to find. It seemed as if the kids had SO much fun - I'm so thankful for the ones who helped me set up, helped hand out candy and man the games and clean up. Thank you thank you thank you. After church, we headed to Callahan to see Pappaw and Nona and trick or treat from them. It was the first time that week they had seen sweet Minnie Mouse :)
Reese is obviously obssessed with puzzles here lately...this is where I found her and Daddy after doing all the games :)
A special thank you to my sweet husband for putting up with all the craziness of last week. He just went with the flow and allowed me to vent when needed and sleep when needed. Thankfully, Halloween is another year away! Here comes Thanksgiving and Christmas, which also mean crazy busy :) But, I love it and wouldn't have it any other way!
